High voltage test of induction motor

HIGH VOLTAGE TEST OF INDUCTION MOTOR

  1. More then rated voltage is called high voltage test.
  2. High voltage rating is variable is depend upon application insulation class.
  3. HV test is use to determine insulation breakdown voltage 



HV TESTS   FOR SINGLE PHASE MOTOR

FORMULA               
     
         H.V= 2*VOLTAGE+1000
   EX.     H.V=2*220V+1000
                     =1440 V       -------approximately = 1500V= 1.5 kV.








HV TESTS FOR THREE PHASE MOTOR


FORMULA               
     
         H.V= 2*VOLTAGE+1000
   EX.     H.V=2*415 V+1000
                     =1830 V       -------approximately = 2000V= 2 kV.
